Chemical Filters
Sometimes the water you draw from a borehole may contain harmful chemicals which cannot be removed with standard filtration systems. In such cases other specialist filters can be used which will remove or reduce the harmful effects of many specific chemicals in the water for example: Chlorine, lead, benzene, arsenic, mercury, cadmium, nitrates & pesticides.
In these cases we can use numerous ways to filter the water & one of the main ways is with a reverse-osmosis filter, they are small so can be installed in a cupboard or under the sink.
Other chemical removal filters consist of a vessel with specific media (based on your water test parameters) to kill or remove the chemicals which are then backwashed, flushed and cleaned automatically.
With this type of system we would suggest a standard water test be carried out annually to ensure the filters are working effectively.
The media is completely specific to the chemical & water test results so maintenance could be from 3 months – 5 years depending on the media inside the filter.
